December Wine-of-the-Month:
Pierre Gaillard, (100% Viognier), Condrieu AOP, Northern Rhône Valley, France, 2022
(regular retail price: $98)
At 12 years of age, Pierre Gaillard had already planted his own vineyard. After this, he studied oenology in Burgundy and brought this knowledge to bear on his vineyards in France’s Rhône Valley. Located in the northern most reaches of the Rhône, this Condrieu is a classic example of 100% Viognier planted on granitic soils. Full bodied and lush, this aromatic white boasts notions of peach, nectarine, orange blossom and honeysuckle, and is the perfect pairing with our Pan Seared Scallops with Coconut/Curry Emulsion.
Recommended Pairing: Our Maine Sea Scallops with Vanilla/Orange Segments, Bok Choy, Roasted Romanesco, Pickled Maitake Mushroom, Shiso, and Coconut-Curry Emulsion
